U2, a band that’s been creating hits since the mid 70s and aren’t stopping anytime soon.

Not sure who they are? All you need to do is click on your Apple music and check out their album ‘Songs of Innocence’ that will magically be there for free (great marketing if I do say so myself)

In this article, I will be listing out 10 of the best U2 love songs of all time!

1. Ordinary Love

Oh we’re starting with a bang here. Starting slow and captivating. Once the chorus hits you can feel the emotion in Bono’s voice as he sings about the toughness that is plain and simply, ordinary love.

Around halfway through the song the tempo picks up with the addition of a drum beat and chances are you won’t be able to not tap your foot along to the beat during this one.

2. With Or Without You

I love the way this song starts. It’s almost got an airy feel to it like I should be driving with the love of my life with my arms out the window.

Scrolling through the YouTube comments, this one really tells it how it is “Some songs touch your soul more than a lover ever could”

This song is such a classic U2 love song, that I guarantee you’ll still be hearing it in 20 years’ time.

3. Pride (In the Name of Love)

If you’re looking for a feel-good love song, this is the one for you.

It’s a little more fast paced and chances are you’ll be singing along “In the name of love” and bobbing your head along with Bono when that chorus hits.

Not to mention the bad ass guitar solo we get treated too halfway through the song. It’s love, but it’s also rock n roll and we like it!

4. Love Is Bigger Than Anything in its Way

U2 started in the 70’s. This song came out in 2017. That’s over 30 years of creating incredible music. They’ve stuck around this long for a reason.

This song is beautiful because love is bigger than anything in its way. If you really love someone, you’ll find a way to make it work.

Not to mention the progressive music video that’s incredibly LGBTQ+ positive, the world needs more of this love positivity spread amongst it.

5. One

This song may be one of my favorites musically in this list. The click of the drumsticks and the rhythmic guitar are the perfect match.

This song is all about how beautiful it is to be able to share one love together, but despite this, it can still be painful.

Love isn’t easy, and the best type of love normally isn’t.

6. Love and Peace or Else

This song starts with some heavy electric guitar, giving the feeling you’re about to listen to a rock song more than a U2 love song, but don’t be fooled.

Once the vocals hit, you’re transported to that classic world of U2 we all know and love.

Lay down, lay down your guns. Protesting for world peace is about as love filled as it can get, because we all need to love each other.

7. Love Is Blindness

This song starts how you’d expect a classic love song to. It’s slower than the other songs on this list, which just makes it touch your soul that much more.

Love is blindness, which is such a true statement when you step back and think about it, giving different meanings depending on how you choose to interpret it.

This song deserves your full attention. Put your headphones in, relax and enjoy the art that is Love Is Blindness.

8. Luminous Times (Hold On To Love)

This is a beautiful song that builds the more minutes you get. It starts slow with just the instruments and soft spoken singing, before slowly getting louder and more upbeat with every second that passes.

“See the sunlight in her song, see the sunlight in her soul” because what is a lover if not the sunshine of your day?

9. When Love Comes to Town

U2 are bringing some rock and roll to this love song. Starting fast and strong with that unmistakable electric guitar.

We’re treated to so much more than just Bono with this song, featuring the incredible B. B. King.

Bono and B. B. Kings voices perfectly complement each other with the deeper voice of B. B. following Bonos higher tone.

After listening to this song, you’ll certainly want to jump that train next time love comes to town.

10. California (There Is No End to Love)

This song might be number 10 on the list, but that doesn’t make it any less than the other 9.

In fact, if you have an iPhone, as mentioned in the intro of this article, you can listen to this song for free thanks to it magically appearing in your Apple music.

U2 sing “There is no end to love” which if you think about it, is there ever? No matter how any of your past loves may have ended, chances are you’re never going to forget them. And with your current lover, you never want it to end.

After 14 studio albums, U2 are still going strong being one of the world’s best-selling musical artists, and for good reason.

While they tend to get political in their music, you can’t go wrong with a classic love song, and this list of 10 will have you calling your loved ones by the end of it.
